Re: terminal server and sbs2003 prem

I'd use RWW and the RDP proxy to connect the remote users. Now that you have
a TS on the SBS network, when remote users log into RWW
(https://publicIP/remote) they should get an option 'Connect to my company's
application-sharing server'. This uses an ActiveX control RDP client to
allow the user to run a Terminal Session. This requires ports 443 and 4125
to be forwarded from the router to the SBS but note that 4125 on the SBS
will only be opened dynamically.

An alternative would be for the remote office(s) to establish a VPN to the
SBS and then use a standard RDP client. For PPTP VPN you would forward port
1723 to the SBS and the router must also handle GRE passthrough. GRE is
actually IP Protocol 47 but some routers handle it by incorrectly requiring
port 47 to be forwarded.

A third option, and least desirable (IMHO), is to forward port 3389 at both
the router (to SBS) and SBS (to TS). This would allow the remote users to
establish an RDP session direct to the TS which would appear to be exposed
directly on the public IP.
