Frank is right Casper,
The modem should be set to PASSTHROUGH and the router doing all the work.
Then you should just set it up as a broadband connection and place the server
within the same subnet.
Things you might want to look at also, does the ISP block port 25 for smtp?
IF so you will run into problems with email routing. I had to use a work
around hack for bellsouth on a client.
