#########ANSWER:
XP can see all the server IP addresses via a ping and via explorer when
logged in via VPN but cannot see any of the server netbios names (DNS
registered names). The server name is elbay - the domain is called LBA and
neither are visible nor any clients on the server network - these are all
visible via the Win2K machine

#########ANSWER:
The only error messages are Windows cannot find the network share or find
the address http:\\elbay or \\elbay (the server name). If I type
http:\\192.168.1.60 I can see the website and \\192.168.1.60 shows me the
shares

#########ANSWER:

#########ANSWER:
One and I know I should probably use two but I have spent ages getting it
working with one so wont be changing for a while. The router is routing only
specifically allowed traffic and the passwords are quite secure.

#########ANSWER:
It does - my router has allocated separate IP addresses to each machine and
there are no outgoing restrictions on the firewall.

I have checked each machine and have attached the ipconfig /all from the
good Windows 2K machine for comparison.

The firewall is switched off on the remote Windows XP machine and the
Windows 2K machine doesnt have one. The router is working as the firewall
and the two remote machines have secure passwords

I hope all this gives you enough information...
