Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply.
HTTP, short for HyperText Transfer Protocol, is the protocol for
transferring hypertext documents that makes the World Wide Web possible. A
standard web address (such as http://www.yahoo.com/) is called a URL; the
prefix (http in the example) indicates its protocol. WWW (World Wide
Web)--also known as WEB--this is the generic name given to all of the
hypertext-based HTML documents on the Internet.
For more information, please refer to the following web sites:

For the update of your web site, do you mean you create the web site using
FrontPage? If so, I would suggest you post it in the
microsoft.public.frontpage.client newsgroup. The reason why we recommend
posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of
respondents, and other partners who read the newsgroups regularly can
either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

| Charles,
| thanks a lot. It works.
| I will "play" with a test site and try to identify what exactly was
missed.
|
| I have two more questions related to websites that's why I don't want to
| start a new tread on forum.
| 1. what is the difference between www and http in URL typing?
| Why some sites are http and other www?
| I understand that by typing http we asking to connect with HTTP protocol.
| What about www?
|
| 2. I have a simple website (with index.html and linked static documents
and
| pictures)
| How I can update the site? I need update exicting documents, add new etc.
|
| Probably I will need Web page editor. I remember couple of years ago I
used
| Front Page for creating simple website.
| What is the best way.
| Please give me couple of tips.
| Sorry for such a trivial questions. I am not web oriented :)
| Thanks for your patient input.
| Michael.
