If the store database has a virus and a/v is scanning that file.. it will quarantine that file. Exclude that store database in your a/v settings.
Wincing......You reformatted the server?
You do realize what an extreme solution that was to an Exchange problem?

We have a brand new SBS2003 server running Symantec AV 10.0. All of the sudden the store quit running. The virus software said it had the Sober virus, so we thought we must have missed something. We reformatted the server and started the process of migrating users .pst to Exchange.
The store quit running again when we added the 5th user. Symantec shows the E00.log file has the sober.x virus. I called Symantec and they offered little help. I did get the E00.log file out of quarantine. I've turned autoprotect off on the appropriate files as required by Symantec and Microsoft.
I ran the eseutil /mh on the file. It shows dirty shutdown. In attempting to run a soft recovery on the file, I cannot get DOS to go to the right directory. Here is where I'm stuck: we migrated the Exchange files to the D: drive for space issues. I did not have any trouble until migrating the 5th user. Now I can't figure out how to run the eseutil /r on the E00.log file. Here is my path: d:\exchsrvr\mdbdata. I can see the E00.log file here, but I can't figure out how to make DOS work with this info.
I'd love any help anyone can offer!
Thanks, Melinda
