Re: Paranoid SBS2k3

Hi Lanwench,

Thanks for your response. My workstation that is connected to the SBS2k3 now
does not do automatic updates nor does the server even though I set both to
do automatic updates.

Ok, reading the comments of experts like you, it would appear that it would
be wiser not to do automatic updates. However, my issue is that systems
policies affecting my business are now being taken out of my hands without my
prior knowledge and consent. What is worse is that I have no idea how to
change the policies. When I go to Systems on the server, all the buttons are
grayed out. Same is true about the workstation. I can't see how to do it in
Group Policy Management nor ISA management either.

I don't play any music on the server. The audio system on the server has
never worked for reasons unknown to me but this was never a great loss to me.
However, I do think that the workstations ought to have these functions
enabled. Incidentally, the sound seems to have come back on for some unknown
reasons. (All this just add to a sense of insecurity: things going on and
off).

However, I still cannot plug my external HD to either the workstation or the
server.
