RE: SBS 2003 User CALS

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi Jan,

Thanks for your update.

I am sorry for the delayed response due to weekend. Please understand that
the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals to
answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!

I am glad to know that things are getting fine now-)! I appreciate your
time and effort to the issue and get this resolved.

>From your resolution, the issue should be caused by network connection. You
may try to Re-run CEICW (server management console -> Internet and E-mail
-> connect to the internet) to refresh the network connection to see if it
helps. By run the wizard, it will reset the configuration on firewall,
e-mail server, DNS server and so on.

You can take a look at the following KB article to get detail steps to
configure network connection:

825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003

Please feel free to post back when you need further assistance on this
issue and you are always welcome!

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Jenny,

I apologize for replying directly to your message. I was out a couple of
days and when I got to look at the posting in microsoft.public.
windows.server.sbs my question was still there but, for some reason, your
answer was already deleted from the server.

I've carefully checked through all points you mention in your message as
also noted in the migration white paper under troubleshooting. Everything
was set up correctly. I guess I should have mentioned that more precisely
in
my question.

Meanwhile, however, I have resolved the problem. As the connectivity seemed
to be OK from the server to the clients but failed from the clients to the
server, I had a closer look at the ISA firewall. Although disabling the
firewall brought no solace, uninstalling it , then re-installing did the
trick (somewhat of an aggressive solution I admit but it worked). I must
have made a configuration error in the first setup (LAT perhaps? too late
to
tell).

I much appreciate the time you took for your extensive reply. Nice to know
that some people care.
Thanks again,
Jan
