Messages stuck in Queue

Hi all,
Following on from the earlier 'DHCP problem on restored SBS 2003 system'
here's a real doozy!
On the DHCP side stuck everything on fixed IPs and all working fine.
Everything ready to rock with Trend CSM v2 on the SBS box and Officescan on
the clients. Ready to do the final bit and walk out of the door earlier on.
Added the 4 POP3 mail accounts to the POP3 connector manager and downloaded.
Quite a bit of email since Wed afternoon - about 600 emails all in all
totalling about 15Mb. From checking via webmail earlier however most of this
is crud. Problem is that it all got stuck in the Queue and wouldn't budge.
Followed through article 885685 on the MS site and it appears that the mail
is being downloaded by POP3 successfully and then being moved from the
Incoming folder to the c:\inetpub\mailroot\queue folder where it remains
rather than moving to the pickup folder. Certainly the POP3 appears to be
registered correctly as per the tests in that article and the Event Logs
show the mail being downloaded successfully.
As a workaround I have the clients downloading direct to their Outlook
Exchange mailbox via POP3 but I have 600 emails that won't go anywhere now.
Strange thing is that internal mails are not held up by these messages being
seemingly stuck in the queue!
More interested from a technical standpoint as we'll be doing a full swing
migration off and back onto entirely new hardware in about a week's time but
would like to figure this one out if possible.
Cheers,
David
