Re: User CALs

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Thank you, I would like to be quite sure on this.

The reason is that I have a number of computers that do not need
specific user profiles.
They are connected to testing-examination devices. I would like them to
be on the SBS domain, mainly for backup and update purposes.
I understand I could use per device licensing, but this would mean I
would have to purchase more licences than the number of users I have
requiring specific profiles

I assume then, with User CAL licensing, I could use a specific [Same]
username + password on all these devices logged on to the domain at the
same time, and the licence usage should be calculated as ONE licence
for all these devices on the domain?
Is this correct?
If this is correct, how does it affect software updates or AD events on
all these computers [or devices] [if at all negatively]??
Windows updates etc would anyway mostly happen at night when the
[common] user is logged off these machines.
