Re: ISA 2004 & companyweb

Dear Danny,

Thanks for your detailed reply.

Let me summarize the symptom of this issue:

1. The "Require all users to authenticate" option is checked.
2. You cannot access companyweb via http://comanyweb
3. You can access companyweb via http://companyweb.domain.local with
entering the credential.
4. You can access companyweb via https://companyweb

Am I right? Considering the current situation, I would like to suggest you
try the following actions:

1. Please input http://companyweb into the Exceptions input box on the
client computer. (In the last reply I suggested you input companyweb other
than http://companyweb)

2. a. Install IIS Metabase Explorer. The tool is integrated in the IIS
resource kit. You may download the kit from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-
B628-ADE629C89499&displaylang=en

b. Once it is installed, access it from Start, Programs, IIS Resources,
Metabase Explorer.

c. In the Metabase Explorer, expand LM\W3SVC\. Open each node to find the
node with the properties of 'ServerComments/String/companyweb'. Write down
the number of the node.

d. Open regedit program. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\Intranet key. In
the right panel, check the value data of 'companywebpath'. Make sure that
the path matches the real location of the site in IIS. For example, if the
real location of the companyweb site is '5', you need to change the data
value from 'iis://localhost/w3svc/4' to 'iis://localhost/w3svc/5'.

e. Open a command prompt. Run the command 'iisreset'. Rerun the CEICW to
see if the issue can be resolved.

3. Check the listening port of the Web Listener

By default the Web Listener is listening on the external network adapter.
Please navigate to Firewall Policy, on the right pane, click
Toolbox->Network Objects->Web Listener, and double click the "SBS Web
Listener", go to the Network tab, ensure only the "External" option is
checked in the list and the status is "The default IP address on the ISA
Server computer in the selected network".

If the problem still persists, let's gather the following info for further
troubleshooting:

1. Please send the IIS metabase to me for further analysis:
a. Open the IIS metabase explorer.

b. In the left pane, right click 'LM' (under your server computer name) to
choose 'Export to file', and then save it as IIS.mbk.

c. Compress this mbk file and send it to me at v-edtian@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

2. Did you receive any error when re-running the CEICW Wizard?
Please collect the icwlog.txt file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows
Small Business Server\Support folder. Send the file to me at
v-edtian@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

3. Use the networking MPS report to collect the server event logs and
networking configuration info:
a. Download MPSrepot_network from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE

b. Run MPSRPT_NETWORK.exe on the server box.

c. The tool will automatically collect the information. This procedure will
take 10~15 minutes.

d. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder:
%SystemRoot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab\

e. Send the .cab file directly to my mailbox.

4. Use the ISAinfo utility to collect the ISA configurations:
a. Download the file from the following URL:
http://www.isatools.org/isainfo/ISAInfo.zip

b. Extract all files to a folder on ISA server

c. Double click Isainfo.js. This will generate 2 files
ISAInfo2004-<computer-name>.log and ISAInfo2004-<computer-name>.xml in the
current folder.

d. Please send these files to me.

I appreciate your time and cooperation. Please feel free to let me know if
there is anything I can do for you.

Merry Christmas! :-)

Best Regards
Edward Tian(MSFT)
