FTP is not installed on a default SBS, you have to go into add/remove programs, go into Windows and add the FTP service....but... are you sure you want this service running?

Hi everyone,
I received a new SBS box for Christmas.
I think my FTP service is running on it but I'm not certain.
I can't see it in the list of services but when I am on a client machine and I try to open a DOS FTP session I do get a reply .... even if it's just to say that the remote host has juts disconnected me.
In SBS 2000 we had a line in the services page that said that FTP was OK. Can't see that in SBS2003.
Is there some way to know that the sevice is up ?
In ISA 2004 I see I have two FTP rules that were installed for me. One is "Outbound", but I want my LAN clients to be able to connect to the machine, not WAN clients. So I have added the Internal option to the rules where it was absent. Still I cant't connect. Would I need to add some more rules to liberate my FTP server ? I figured that SBS would do that by default.
I discovered IISFTP.vbs (didn't know about that) I added a site called FTPROOT. It exists, it has " all users" full control (for the time being). Still can't access.
I read on some groups that there is an active/passive issue. How do I get round that with my MS DOS FTP client ?
Is there anything else I should do before I ring up Father Christmas' complaints department ?
Any and al help appreciated.
