Dear Customer,
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
I am sorry for the delayed response due to weekend. Please understand that
the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals to
answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!
I understand that you created a folder on the SBS 2K3 Server desktop, and
restore file from Backup to the folder. After a recent restoration, the
folder is missing from the desktop. If I have misunderstood your issue,
please let me know.
Due to lack of detail information, I need your help to perform following
steps and gather more detail information for further research:
1. Please make sure that you use the same user account before and after you
perform restoration.
2. What is the method you perform Backup and Restore? Do you use SBS Backup
Wizard or NTbackup to backup and restore the files?
3. On the SBS Server, go to Start -> Search. Click "More advanced options".
Check the box "Search hidden files and folder". Please search the folder
again.
4. On the SBS Server, open a command window, go to the Path of
"C:\Documents and Settings\<User Account>\Desktop". Please replace <User
Account> as the log on account. Type the following command:
dir *.* /a:h > C:\dir.txt
go to C drive, open the dir.txt file. Copy and paste the full content to
the Newsgroup.
Please take your time to perform the steps and I am looking forward to
hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
