Hi,
Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup! Also thanks for SBSindy's great input.
I am sorry for the delayed response due to the weekend. Please understand
that the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals
to answer your systems and applications questions. Thanks for your
understanding.
>From the symptoms you described, it seems that the remote desktop is not
logged off properly. To check which sessions are currently active on the
server, please perform the following steps to see whether other users are
logging on to the server:
1. Log on to the Terminal Services-based server locally.
2. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then
click Terminal Services Manager.
3. Click the appropriate Terminal Services-based server. Note the Users Tab
in the right pane.
You can see which users are currently logging on to the server. Are all the
Remote Desktop connections yours?
When this problem happens we can also right-click one of the users with a
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session, and then click Logoff to enable you
to logon without restating the server.
Meanwhile, I suggest that you perform the following steps to configure the
time out for disconnected session and install the UPHClean tool:
1. Open "Terminal Services Configuration" in Administrative Tools,
double-click RDP-Tcp in the Connections folder and click the Sessions tab.
2. Click to select "Override user settings" and make sure that "End a
disconnected session" is selected and then set a time, such as 1 hours.
3. Refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to install the
UPHClean tool:
837115 Troubleshooting profile unload issues
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=837115
Test if this problem continues.
Hope the above information helps! I am happy to be assistance to you and
look forward to your reply!
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu
