Re: Exchange not receiving inboud emails

Hi Les,
My main issue has now been resolved, thank you very much. I can now receive
external emails. The problem was that the IP address I was using (which I got
from my landlord) was a private IP address. This would have been obvious to a
techie. What I didn't know was that I had access to the internet via my
landlord's LAN.
I have now purchased a public IP address from my landlord which is now
registered at my name host, Yahoo. The private IP address still resides on my
SBS but my landlord has has mapped the public IP to the private one on my
server. I'm sure it all makes sense to you!
I have rerun the dnsreport and it does look better now. The reports still
complains about Reverse DNS enteries for MX records but apparently there is
nothing I can do about it within SBS. Again my landlord is going to create
this records.
All the other complaints on the DNS report is to do with my name host Yahoo
and I'm going to take them up with Yahoo.
Finally, thanks for pointing out the configuration error of my XP
workstation. I shall try and fix that in the New Year. The main thing now is
that I can now move forward at last!
Thanks again.
Reuben
