RE: Changing DNS with ICW problem

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your update by mail. I do understand your concerns.

Also I would like to suggest you change another working fine Nic to connect
to the server box, and then install it in the Device manager snap-in, then
Re-run CEICW to configure network connection to test, let me know the
result.

What is your NICs accurate brand? Do they list in Microsoft production
catalogs? You can visit the homepage to find compatible information:
www.microsoft.com\hcl

To the Friday issue, the problem may lies in NICs, and the issue disappears
now. So I suggest we focus the original issue first and the Friday issue
may also caused by it. And also please monitor your server more careful and
please let me know if there is any issue happened.

Please also check your event log using Event Viewer, can you find any
related error message? If yes, please paste the detail information in the
newsgroup.

I appreciate your time!

Merry Chrastmas!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Jenny,

There's no third party firewall. No ISA, SBS Standard.

I'll get back to you with the uninstall of the nic's.

I agree, DNS is the likely culprit. But... Why are Fridays so bad. Not
looking forward to this Friday. Maybe I can try the fix with the nics by
then. Not sure.

Thanks,
