RE: Cannot access website from Internet after installing ISA 2004

Hi Alex,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup!

For your description, I understand that the issue to be: you can not access
the web site from internet after upgraded to ISA 2004. If I am off base,
please don't hesitate to let me know.

Before we go further, please kindly help me collect some information to
isolate the issue:

1. What is website you want to access from internet? Is it SBS build-in
website (such as the Companyweb site, RWW site, OWA) or your customized
websites?

2. What is the error message you got when you access the web site? Please
paste the accurate error message here.

3. Have you published the website to internet? After installed ISA 2004,
have you Re-run CEICW to configure network connection. To SBS build-in web
site, after you installed ISA 2004 or upgrade ISA, you need Re-run CEICW to
configure or refresh default rules. If you want to publish a customized web
site to internet, you need configure a web publishing rule to publish it to
internet. For detail information, you can refer to the following KB article:

885186 How to publish a Web site directly on your Internet Security and
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=885186

For your symptom, the issue should be caused by some rule has blocked the
incoming traffic. Let's Run CEICW to see if the issue be fixed.

It is recommended you take a look at the following KB article to get detail
steps to configure network connection:

825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763

And then If you have installed any hardware firewall or router outside the
network, please manually open related ports on the hardware firewall or
router to allow traffic.

Then please try to access them to see if the issue be fixed.

Additionally information:
Generally, we open the ports we needed to allow some specific traffic. You
can refer to the following list:

TCP port Definition
25 Email (SMTP)
80 required for HTTP
requests for your site
443 required for HTTPS
requests using SSL, which secures communications from your server and a Web
browser
444 Companyweb
4125 Remote Web Workplace
1723 (plus GRE Protocol 47) VPN
3389 Terminal Services
21 FTP
