Hi Tony,
Thanks for your reply.
I have analyzed the files you have send to me and find the following error:
Executing MAPI Profile configuration...
MAPIInitialize(): Error code = 80004005.
Exiting MAPI Profile configuration... Error code = 80004005.
DoOutlookTransportOrder() - ConfigureClientProfile() returned [0x80004005]
I am performing further research on the issue now. To narrow down the
problem, would you please help me confirm if the problematic client
operating system is English version?
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)

| Crina:
|
| Thank you for responding. I've gotten back to the client site to try
| the activities you mentioned. I've sent a screen shot of the error
| dialog box and the log files to you via email as requested.
|
| I've turned off the firewall and Symantec AV software on the one
| problem machine and saw the same issue. The other 5 desktops are
| configured the same (same version of AV, XP SP2, Firewall on) and work
| without problem. I ran eventvwr on the client and the SBS 2003. THe
| SBS 2003 server had no errors. The client application log had the
| following error: Faulting applicaton applnch.exe, version 5.2.2893.0,
| faulting module applnch.exe, version 5.2.2893.0, fault address
| 0x0002ffd5. I've sent a screen shot of the error properties to you in
| my email (I couldn't get it to paste into the newgroup).
|
|
| The client does logon with a domain account and that account is
| configured with the same groups and permissions (it was created with
| the power user template as were all the other accounts) as everyone
| else. Concerning the logon script, I had removed that from the user's
| profile tab last week so the user wouldn't see the error everytime they
| logged into the domain. In all other activities, the user is
| functioning fine. The user can access email from exchange, create
| public folders via Outlook 2003 on the SBS server, access shared
| folders that others provide permission to access and create/edit/read
| shared and private calendars. The only problem I see with the
| account involves the SBS client app launcher.
|
| I haven't tried, yet, updating the SBS 2003 client software that you
| provided a link to. So far no one else has a problem with the current
| SBS client app launcher version on the server, so I'd like to hold off
| updating that to see if the logs and other information I've sent you
| provides any other explanation. I agree with you that this probably is
| a result of some user account specific issue. I just can't see
| anything with the account just yet that I can point to as the issue.
|
| Thanks
|
| Tony
