Re: SBS 2003 To Exchange 2003 Standard

Thanks for updates.

It is possible to do the mailbox migration without apply the Transition
packs on SBS 2003, this will not cause any problem. But you have to install
the new Exchange 2003 server on member server and join the Exchange 2003 to
the existing org, which can be done after you apply the transition packs.
That why I suggest you doing the transition packs then moving the mailbox
to the new server.

No matter which method you use, you can using migration wizard to move
mailbox, you do not need to use exmerge, for the rules setting on the
client side. I am afraid that you have to import manually, as it is not the
exchange server issue. For all the setting relate to exchange will be
migrate directly to new server after you follow my steps to perform
migration.
