Re: Long log in time

Hi Lee

Sorry for the delay replying, been a bit busy.

Firstly, is this SBS standard or Premium. Either one, I strongly recommend
you activate the second network card and attach the router to the second
nic. On doing so make sure you check the binding order of the network cards
to ensure the LAN nic is at the top ( I usually rename the nics LAN and
Internet to assist troubleshooting) To check the binding order, in network
properties, tools advanced settings.

Directory ' to the right of the page for guidance.

>From your IP configs I believe your router is 10.0.0.1 and server is
10.0.0.10. However your laptop says DNS is 10.0.0.20... any idea what .20
is? Also how did the laptop get 10.0.0.20. It is saying you have a DHCP
server at 10.0.0.20 ?

As a quick test manually put in DNS as 10.0.0.10 on the laptop and you
should see logon much quicker. This of course assumes SBS is handling DNS.

Ah, just spotted the laptop is using a wireless adapter, are you using an
access point ? What is the ipconfig of a wired connection ? If server sees
another dhcp server it will shut its own one down.
