Hi Joe,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
>From the description, do you mean you can not start Default Web Site
through right clicking it and select Start on IIS console after you
installed update?
Please try to see if the following KB article is help:
890015 You receive a "The process cannot access the file because it is being
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=890015
And also please check the properties of Default Website as following:
1. Click Directory Security tab and then click Edit on IP address and
domain name restriction column.
2. Select Granted access or remove127.0.0.1 and try to see how thing goes.
3. Click Edit on Authentication and access control column and then make
sure you have selected "Enable anonymous access" and "Integrated Windows
authentication".
4. On General tab, make sure you have selected (All Unassigned) on IP
address column and TCP port is 80 and SSL port is 443.
If it does not work, to narrow down the problem, would you please help me
collect the following information?
1. Can you please attach a screen shot to newsgroup regarding the issue?
2. What update you have installed?
3. Did you add any new web site in IIS?
I am appreciated your time and look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)

| I have installed Small Business 2003 server a month ago and the Default
Web
| Site was working fine. User can access the site from an off-site
location to
| check e-mail etc. Last week (Friday) I did a Windows Update and updated
the
| Share Point. Since then, I can not bring up the Default Web Site. When I
try
| to start the Default Web Site, I receive the following error: "The
process
| cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." I'm
not
| sure how to fix this or what process is being used. At this point I can
not
| bring up the Web Site from an off-site location to check e-mail. Any
help
| would be appreciated.
