1. Illegal use of software
2. He's using something called "passthrough authentication" Same usernames/passwords on both domains ...more hassle
Number 1 is the worst.
Trying to circumvent the system and make it twice as hard as the next admind... is probably a close second.

Boy do I have a doosy for you all.
The systems administrator, as he likes to call himself has decided that he is smarter then MS and has installed SBS premium without SQL on one server and then has installed the SBS SQL on a WIN2003 server. Then he has created about 10 accounts even though the liscensing is for 5 accounts and somehow all 10 people seem to be able to log in at the same time... it gets better the SBS server is its own domain but SQL sits in a child domain of a larger network...
I am not a SBS MVP or anything, I more or less dabble for fun but I know well and truely that this setup is going to lead to some type of disaster down the road.
He has created some script that allows for user to log into the child domain and somehow it allows then to log into the SBS domain at the same time... he used the same usernames and passwords for both domains...
Ok just for piece of mind can someone explain to me the ramification of this. I plan to have a chat with managment about this setup soon but I am not sure how bad it really is. obviusly its in breach of the lisencing agreement at least and there are bound to be some types of issues should one of the server fail. Also wouldn't it be cause issues ont he SBS server since certail things like Sharepoint need SBS to function properly.
Many Thanks, K
