Hi,
Thanks for updates.
It seems so wired issue, I think it might be the CEICW did not restart the
netlogon services. So we can manually restart the netlogon service and
recreate the DNS zone.
Stop Net Logon service and then restart this service. (This will recreate
the zones and subfolders required for AD)
Run the following command under Command Prompt.
IPCONFIG /FlushDNS
IPCONFIG /RegisterDNS
In additional, we suggest you strictly follow the article below to rerun
CEICW, it seems your CEICW is not run correctly. (it describe some steps
about configuring the DNS zone on the DNS managements.)

Thanks again for your effort here. You can post back as your convenience.
Take care with your body.

| Charles,
|
| Sorry for the delay, as I've been fighting the flu and missed some work
| this week.
|
| I deleted the zones in DNS Management console and re-ran the CECIW.
| Now there are no 1030 and 1058 errors in event log and the network
| seems to be running better in general. Now, however, there are 2
| issues. There are no zones in DNS management, meaning the CECIWizard
| did not re-create any dns zones.
|
| I also get this notice in the DNS event viewer log:
|
| Event Type: Information
| Event Source: DNS
| Event Category: None
| Event ID: 708
| Date: 12/7/2005
| Time: 5:02:58 PM
| User: N/A
| Computer: company-DC1
| Description:
| The DNS server did not detect any zones of either primary or secondary
| type during initialization. It will not be authoritative for any zones,
| and it will run as a caching-only server until a zone is loaded
| manually or by Active Directory replication. For more information, see
| the online Help.
|
| For more information, see Help and Support Center at
| http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
|
|
| I think I'm going to have to re-create the DNS zones manually, unless u
| have suggestions.
|
| Thanks
| -Matt
