RE: store.exe hangs at reboot after SP1 upgrade to SBS 2003

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

HI John,

Welcome to SBS newsgroup.

Issue description:
============

I understand that your SBS server hung at the applying computer setting.

Analyzing and suggestion:
=============

In order to isolate the issue, we need to gather more information:

1. Is there warning or error message on the event view, please check it
carefully and paste any relate error or warning message, it should be some
error information log in.
2. Please also stop the Trend software services from the boot menu, you can
use msconfig to remove the Trend software relate services from the boot
list. Some time, the trend software might perform the virus scan on the
exchange store which might cause the server hang.
3. Is there any other third party software installed on your SBS server?

Please note that on our experience, this issue should be caused by the
anti-virus software, we encounter too many similar issues which have been
resolved by removing the anti-virus software, I know it might not be
possible to remove the anti-virus software, so I suggest you disable the
services for testing purpose.

I really appreciate your understanding on this issue; please post back your
results. I am glad to be of further assistance.

Best regards,

Charles Yang (MSFT)

| No errors- the server sits at applying computer settings. If I stop
Exchange
| store and disable I can restart the server without issues.
| After the server reboots I am able to start Exchange.
|
| Thoughts?
|
| We are also running Trend AV
|
