Re: Can i create a trust between WinNT Server 4 and Windows 2003 SBS

And NT4 cannot be an additional domain controller for SBS 2003, you need a win2k or 2k3.

A "SBS domain" can't have trusts with other domains. So your question basically comes back to: how to install WSUS in a non trusted domain (which is the same as installing it on a stand alone server from a security point of view). You might want to post your question on microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs.

Hope this helps,

Hi there,

I am trying to setup up a secondary Domain within my company, and i wish to
create a trust between these domains. The first domain is an NT domain, using
a Windows NT PDC (SP6 i think), and the second domain is using Windows 2003
SBS SP1.

My main aim is to setup a WSUS Server on the second domain and ideally be
able to update the clients on the NT domain from the 2003 Domain.

I have followed the steps to setup a trust using both Uni Directional and Bi
Directional trusts and each time i get a message saying that "Cannot
Continue, Not supported by Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server"

Is this possible, and is there another way around this.??

Thanks for your time.
