You only have to download the active-x on the first visit. It's not that
much of a pain after that - leaving both remote and local workstations on
default ports is certainly less adminstrative work in the short and long
term.
Not having to remember what port all those machines are listening on (and
not having to open all those ports) .... priceless ;-).
