Re: Monitor loses signal on startup. Will not boot.



If you boot the server normally, does it work (other than obviously not
being able to view the monitor)? Can you access the server normally from
the client PC's? What happens if you power the monitor back on with its
power button? My first guess would have been video card, but safe mode
rules that out. If the server works normally other than the display issue,
I'd consider swapping out the monitor to see if there's any difference. (I
know, safe mode again, but safe mode uses standard VGA - probably requiring
less horsepower than the regular video card driver).

Is the server set to update itself automatically? The fact that it works OK
in safe mode makes me think maybe a driver got installed by automatic
updates. What happens if you boot into safe mode and roll back the video
driver in device manager, then try rebooting into normal mode?

And while you're in safe mode, please check the logs for errors, and the
power management settings for the monitor.
