RE: Webparts error after sp1 install

Hi Brandy, I will answer the questions in the numbered order.

1. SBS 2k3 Premium

2. while Exchange sp1 was copying files there was a small group of files
with a prompt that the files on the server were newer than the files being
copied and I chose not to overwrite those files. all of the other updates
installed without any errors.

3. I used the Small biz setup in add and remove programs to uninstall the
intranet. after uninstall I used add and remove programs Small business
server set up to install the intranet. After compleation of the install the
server prompted me that the version needed upgradeing to sp1 level. At this
stage I installed Sharepoint Services 2.0 update and the Small Business
Server sp1 update. Next I ran the connect to the internet wizzard to install
a new cirt for SSL. When completed The same error was still present. "Web
Part Error: This page has encountered a critical error. Contact your system
administrator if this problem persists. "

4.
a. All of the web parts show critical error. No custom web parts are
installed. I have closed the default web parts on the default page. when I
try to add a webpart to the page again using the modify shared content or
modify private content i recieve a web page with this error.

Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using
<pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page
EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this
feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from
the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and
expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in
order to register the postback or callback data for validation.

b. Yes companyweb, RWW and OWA are accessable from the server console, Lan
and internet.

c. The same issue is present when connecting from the console, Lan and
internet.

5. I added a website using the add additional sharepoint website whitepaper.
a. added an IP number.
b. created a home folder in inetpub
c. created a new website in IIS and assigned it the new IP number.
d. extended the website using Sharepoint Central admin, finished the default
configuration and created a team site.
e. When I open the new team website I recieve the same errors. none of the
webparts function I get a error message "Web Part Error: This page has
encountered a critical error. Contact your system administrator if this
problem persists. "

6. I will gather the log files and send them to your mailbox.

Thanks
Ray
