Re: companyweb alerts

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

HI Alex,

Thanks for updates.

>From your description, it seems the emails is not sent to the distribution
group you have created? In order to make the issue more clearly, could you
enable the message tracking follow the article below, then you can use the
message tracking to check if the alerts emails is sent from the companyweb?

246856 How to enable message tracking in Exchange 2000 Server and in
Exchange
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=246856

Tip: You can just input the SBS server name for search, then you will
search all the emails that have been sent from the companyweb alerts
function, then you will know if the issue occurs on the Exchange side or
occurs on the sharepoint side. (Please reproduce the issue when setting the
DL list on the companyweb alert) then check the message tracking central to
see if the emails are being sent out from Exchange.

Please also do a test to send a common email to the DL list you have just
created to see if anybody receive the emails.

Thanks again for your efforts on this issue, I am glad to be of further
assistance. Please feel free to post back the results.

Best regards,

Charles Yang (MSFT)

| Hi Thanks very much for your detailed post and instructions. I am sorry
it
| has taken time to get back - but i have been tied up on other issues.
|
| Unfortunately, that did not seem to work. We did already have a
| distribution group with the required members in it, and with a comon
email
| address. When we set the Alerts to use this address nothing happend
|
| I then followed your excellent instrictions and created a new group, but
| with the same result. Its all a bit odd since if I set up just my email
| address for the alerts, then i get them (all be it, very slowly).
|
| I am at a bit of a loss to know what to do now
