The controller sounds like it's an LSI Megaraid controller. The driver
you're using is the latest version available from LSI. If Intel doesn't
offer the management software, you could try installing Powerconsole from
LSI's website. Powerconsole can display the controller's log files which may
contain additional info. I had a drive on an LSI Raid controller that kept
going offline occasionally. LSI tech support recommended replacing the scsi
cable, and that eliminated the problem.
