I just checked the documentation in the release version - it states the default setting for personal firewall is "off", and doesn't recommend enabling it on the "Security Server" - which in this case is your SBS.
Les,
I checked the Firewall setting after reasearching the install on this NG before the install. The check box was not checked. However, once I stopped the service on the server machines that were having problems on the network could then connect and outside machines connecting over a vpn could see our separate terminal server.
Two things I changed. One was removing the GPO from the server under the forest (may have been a stupid move). The other was disabling the Trend personal firewall service. Both of these happened pretty close to each other. My reasoning to believe it was the Trend CSM was that the Microsoft Tech looked over all of the network settings and GPO and said the problems appeared to be caused by the Firewall. We tried to disable ISA2004 but it broke a bunch of things when the service was not running. Hence the uninstall of ISA2004. I am going to do more research tonight so hopefully I can pin down the exact problem. I was one day away from blowing this install away and starting over with a new Swing It upgrade.
Mark .
