Problems with Remote Desktop Connction to SBS

I am re-posting this question as I did not manage to get a solution last
week.
I have used remote desktop to administer my SBS server for over a year. I
have done this both from within my LAN and from outside using the internet.
Last week I installed SBS SP1. I also installed SP2 for Exchange during the
process. I installed the exchange update at the same point in the process
as the SP1 document advises that Exchange SP1 be applied. I.e. after the
Win2003 SP1 but before the SBS SP1. I think the Exchange service pack is a
red herring but I have included the information for completeness. I have
made no other changes to my environment.
Since the update, I observe the following behaviour:
Log on to remote desktop, do some work on the server.
Disconnect, but leave session running.
Attempt to log back on the session but receive the error "The remote
computer ended the connection"
Swap workstation monitor over to server and log directly on to the server.
Can see the running connection.
Feel frustrated and boot laptop, try to connect to server via remote
desktop, the error "The remote computer ended the connection"
Re-boot server.
Repeat from top.
While I cannot connect to the SBS via remote desktop, I still have no
issues mapping and accessing drives on the server and copying data to and
from it.
I have already installed WindowsServer2003-KB898060-v2-x86-enu.exe and
Yours hopefully
