SAV 10 has stopped hanging and now updates signatures normally
Solution (one of Two)
Two configuration changes were made the the Symantec AntiVirus Service
1. Log On: Changed from Local Sytem Account to an Administrator Account
2. Recovery: "Restart Service After" changed from 0 to 1 (minutes).
The service has now run without locking for 4 days (previous best 36 hours).
