Re: Exchange SP2 breaks client server connectivity

On number 2 you are going to have to call support on that. I've seen info that IMF v 1 is getting stuck but no work on how to fix it.

That post 05-019 patch should be on all boxes.

Thankyou Susan,

That worked great on my remaining Servers and Exchange SP2 is in
place.

Caveats: 1 -What do I do with the Servers that I installed SP2 on that
I cannot Remotely access? Can I just apply the Hotfix?

2 - I have 3 Servers that cannot procede because I cannot uninstall
the original Intelligent Message Filter. It does not showup in Add
Remove Programs. Any pointers to a solution?

Thanks for your incredible Time and Efforts, those seen and unseen ...

No even with SP1 you need the extra hotfix.

Scroll down there's a patch for SP1.

I tried Exchange SP2 on 3 of my 14 Servers. One was a new install that
worked without issues. The 2nd was an SBS2003 SP1 Standard box and the
3rd was an SBS2003 SP1 Premium box. The latter two do not allow me
remote Terminal access any longer.

Scanning the NewZgroup I noticed discussions about the HotFix
MS05-019.

"Network connectivity between clients and servers may fail. This
failure occurs after the installation of either security update
MS05-019 or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Any
one or more of the following symptoms may occur:

• Inability to connect to terminal servers or to file share access. "

This KB article seems to say that if Server SP1 is in place you do not
need to apply the above hotfix. Well, all of my 14 SBS servers have
SP1.

Any ideas? Slightly confused and I really rely on Termianl
connectivity to monitor and administrate my Servers.

Thanks ... you folks are always a great help ...
