HI,
The issue seems too wired, please follow my steps below to check the
following setting to see if the issue can be resolved by change the setting
below:
The problem may occur when the security settings for the Local intranet
zone are set as follows:
1. Scripting -> Active scripting = Disable
2. User Authentication -> Logon = Prompt for user name and password
Once you change Active scripting to Enable and Logon to Automatic logon
only in Intranet zone, the problem should disappear.
Meanwhile, please try the following steps to check the ASP.NET permissions:
1. Logon the SBS server with administrator''s privilege. Open a command
prompt.
2. Refer to C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\ from Command
Prompt. Following are the commands to do so.
C:
Cd\
CD %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\
3. Run the following command:
aspnet_regiis -i
4. Open Windows Explorer and make sure the ASPNET account has Full Control
to the following folder:
%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files
5. Restart IIS services (run ''iisreset'' command)and then check if this
issue persists.
For more information, refer to the following articles:
823379 "Server Error in ''/'' Application. Access to the Path <Path> Is
Denied"
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=823379
You can reset the password by changing the password of that account on
ADUC. Please try the above steps first to see if the issue can be clear.
I appreciate your cooperation on this issue. If you have any questions or
concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,
Charles Yang (MSFT)

| Can you explain to me how to reset the IIS_WPG password?
|
| By the way, this issue occurred before I installed SBS SP1 with ISA 2004.
I
| installed the service pack hoping it would reset something and restore
the
| functionality of the server management console.
|
| Is there anything unique about how the server management console accesses
| localhost?
