Re: 1 server 2 nic 2 adsl lines, gateway problem

A network can only have one default route. The default route is used for
traffic not going to any local subnet and not specified by routing. (This is
neither a 'windows' thing, nor an 'SBS' thing, it is pure networking)
If you are using 24 bit mask (255.255.255.0) the .0 address is not a valid
IP, it is the 'network address', .255 being the 'broadcast address'. I'll
substitute .1 below.

I take it you have something like this (just swap the .0.etc and .1.etc if I
have them backward)

internet
|
|
external router 192.168.0.254
|
|
192.168.0.1 (SBS External)
192.168.1.1 (SBS Internal)
|
|
switch -- internal router 192.168.1.254 -- remote subnet (say)
192.168.2.0-255
|
|
workstations

IF SO, the server should only have a default route on the external
interface, you then need to add a persistent route to the .2.etc network via
the .1.254 router.

If a Novell server correctly implemented routing it would alert you to the
misconfiguration, exactly as SBS is.

IF, as others have assumed, the two ADSL lines are for aggregating or
redundant internet access, both lines should be considered 'external' and a
router capable of controlling the aggregation/failover should be used.

Really, your question should be asked in a 'networking' group, none of it is
specific to SBS. HOWEVER, if you do move the question and get some advice,
come back here to check the answer before implementation.
