I've installed SBS, had a few problems with Sharepoint services. As
part of
trying to get that to work, I removed the SQL:SBSMonitoring service.
I'm now
attempting to run the "set up monitoring reports and alerts" task, and
am
getting the following error:

The wizard encountered an error while configuring the monitoring
features.
Run Small Business Server setup, reinstall the server tools component,
and
then run the monitoring configuration wizard again.

I was thinking that was to be expected, however, I've now tried to
reinstall
the server tools/etc, and am still getting the same error. How do I
get the
monitoring services/database back without a complete reinstall?

Thanks,

Sherwood

ANSWER

You probably messed up the active directory.
SBS 2003 needs the Usage Report Users group under MyBusiness / Security
Groups.

See:
http://www32.brinkster.com/datanetzs/ZFile/support/docs/SBS2003_ActiveDirectory.doc

for what a stock SBS2003 active directory looks like.

Good luck,
