Hi Dave,
Thanks for using SBS newsgroup.
Issue description:
=============
I understand that you want to deploy CRM on the SBS 2003 on main site, you
also want to forward email from the remote SBS 2003 to the main site.
Analyzing and suggestions:
=============
Generally speaking, both issues are complexity, so if we handle it on the
newsgroup, it should be timing cost issue. So it is your best interest to
call CSS, they can assist you in a more timely process.
To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a
look at the web site listed below.

If you are outside the US please see http://support.microsoft.com for
regional support phone numbers.
Here I would like to give you some general information on these issues:
Deploy CRM on SBS 2003:
Install CRM on the SBS 2003 server:

Forward emails from remote site to main site between different domains:
Suggestions:
Do it on the secondary SBS server:
1. Create a Contact for this external email account.
2. Create a new Distribution Group and add the specific users that you want
to forward messages to into the distribution group. For detailed
information, please refer to the following Knowledge Base article:
HOW TO: Create a Distribution List (Distribution Group) in Exchange Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821904
3. Configure the user properties in Active Directory Users and Computers
(ADUC) to forward messages to the Distribution Group that you created in
step 1.

| Hi there,
|
| My company currently operates through 2 SBS servers, at its 2 main
| offices in the UK and US, with VPN connecivity provided by way of ISA
| Server 2004. This solution has worked fine, however we are currently
| looking at upgrading from ACT! 6.0 to a SQL based CRM package. Due to
| the major discount offered through Microsoft, and the seeming
| improvement in software with the advent of v3.0, MS CRM seemed to be
| the application of choice. However it seems as though synchronisation
| of this db between the two servers would prove very complex, so the
| best solution would be to host the db at the main site and provide
| access through the site-to-site VPN.
|
| The problems start with the need for authentication through AD for the
| MS CRM db and the fact that each SBS server uses a different domain
| name and runs its own exchange server. User account ID's have been
| replicated on each server so that each client can instantly connect to
| the remote SBS server through ISA server and so access files, so I
| think I am right in thinking that this should also provide
| authentication for MS CRM from the remote site?
|
| Providing I am right with the above, the major problem exists with the
| routing of e-mail. If it would make life easier it would not be an
| issue to adopt the same domain email extension, however would it be
| possible to forward e-mail to the secondary SBS server from the main?
|
| Any help with this or alternative suggestions grealy appreciated!
|
| Thanks
|
