The laptop was not part of the domain. I could access the domain at any time
as long as I used the correct password. The problem was that since the
remember password box was checked, the user would have complete access to the
server unless I changed the password on the domain.

I followed your instructions via the control panel and that seems to work on
my test laptop but you have to log off first to make it actually remove the
info.
