Hello Matt,
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
Thanks a lot Javier's input!
As Javier said, SBS 2003 has the Default Web Site listening on port 443 we
cannot make the companyweb site to listen on that port. That's why we use
port 444.
To publish the companyweb site to the Internet, we can run the CEICW and
select the item on the "Web Services Configuration" page if you have 2 NICs
while not have ISA installed. If you have ISA installed, you should follow
the steps in the following KB article to publish the site:
838304 How to publish http://Companyweb to the Internet by using ISA Server
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=838304
Also see:
838429 The "My Company's Internal Web Site" link on the default Web site
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=838429
If you only have 1 NIC on the server, the companyweb site is by default
published to the Internet. With any method, you must use http://fqdn:444 to
access it from the Internet.
If you really want to do so, you may need to apply a Public IP address for
the external NIC on SBS Server and use ISA server to publish it and
redirect the port.
Hope this information answers your question. If anything is unclear, please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
