Hello Adam,
Thank you for posting back!
>From your reply, I understand that all client's mailboxes are being hosted
on ISP, and you configure Outlook directly connect to the ISP. Please
understand that in SBS environment, we only support that Exchange hosts all
domain clients' mailboxes.
Please see my following reply for each of your questions and my other
suggestions:
1> You ask ""thisiswhatswrong.png" is a screenshot of the mailbox store I
want to get at". Please see my following reply:
I understand that you want to know how to access user's mailbox shown in
this screen shot. Actually, you cannot directly access from here.
The reasons are:
For your current configuration, you configure Outlook directly connect to
the ISP, so all users' mailboxes are hosted at ISP, not Exchange Server, so
you cannot access.
If you used to configure Outlook connected with Exchange Server, then you
can use Exmerge.exe to extract data from a database in a Recovery Storage
Group to the mailbox of the user in the regular storage group. For more
information about how to obtain the Exmerge.exe tool, visit the following
Microsoft Web site:

2> As I mentioned just now, we support installing Exchange Server on SBS,
and Exchange hosts all users' mailbox in the SBS environment. Here I will
show you general steps to configure POP3 Connector to receive Emails.
By default the POP3 service in SBS 2003 is disabled. You need to enable
your SBS 2003 server as a POP3 server by doing the following steps:
1. Open Services from Administrative Tools.
2. Open "Microsoft Exchange POP3" service.
3. Set its startup type to "Automatic", click Apply and then click "Start"
to start the service.
4. Open Exchange System Manager and go to Servers\ServerName\Protocols\POP3.
5. Right click on "Default POP3 Virtual Server" and click Start if it is
not started.
837368 The default POP3 and IMAP4 virtual servers are stopped and you cannot
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=837368
6. Right click on the virtual server and choose Properties.
7. On the General tab, make sure "All Unassigned" is selected in the "IP
address" drop-down list. Click OK.
8. Open the Server Management console. Go to Standard Management\To Do List.
9. Click the "Connect to the Internet" link.
10. Do not change the connection type and click Next.
11. On the Firewall page, select "Enable Firewall" and click Next.
12. On the "Services Configuration" page, click Add.
13. Specify the following information and click OK:
Service name: Incoming POP3 Acces
Protocol: TCP
Port: 110
Direction: Inbound
14. Internet E-mail: Enable Internet E-mail.
15. Proceed to the page of "E-mail Retrieval Method", check the box "Use
the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes".
16. Navigate to "POP3 Mailbox Accounts" page, click Add to add user's POP3
Mailbox. In the E-mail Server blank, please input the external POP3 service
provider's mail server address.
There are two types of POP3 mailboxes, user mailboxes (individual POP3
mailboxes) and Global mailboxes. A user mailbox is where e-mail for an
individual user account is stored in a single POP3 mailbox (e.g.
user1@xxxxxxxx). This mail is then delivered to a defined user on the
Exchange server. A global mailbox is where e-mail for an entire domain is
stored in a single POP3 mailbox (e.g. all e-mail addressed to @alex.com is
stored in a single POP 3 account). When this mail is delivered to the
Exchange server, the user name defined to the left of the @ symbol must
match a defined Exchange user.
17. Finish rest of the wizard.
18. On client workstation, open Outlook 2K3, go to Tools -> E-mail Accounts.
19. On the front page, select View or change existing e-mail accounts.
Click Next.
20. Click Add, select POP3.
21. On the page of "Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)", input all required
information.
22. Finish rest of the wizard.
