RE: Enabling VPN Remote Access using SBS 2003 standard with ISA 20

Dear Cary:
Thanks for your update.

I am glad to hear the VPN issue has been resolved! :)

Regarding your new questions, you can directly upgrade the Premium edition
on the SBS Server. You don't need to migrate anything to a different
machine. All the data will be reserved automatically. It is recommended
that we make a full backup for the SBS Server in case of any unexpected
problems.

Moreover, you may need to uninstall the ISA Server 2004 first because it's
a stand alone version. You can export all the ISA configuration to a xml
file and import it the next time you install ISA 2004.

In addition, ISA Server 2004 will be included in SBS 2003 Service Pack 1
and it can be installed on SBS 2003 Premium Edition. For your convenience,
I attach the URL as following if you want to order the CD package:
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/downloads/sp1/default.mspx

Hope the above information addresses your concern. Please feel free to let
me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a nice day! :)

Best Regards
Edward Tian(MSFT)

| Thank you so much!
|
| That solution actually solved my VPN issues as well, at least
temporarily.
|
| To answer your question about my version of SBS 2003 I am running the
| standard version, and I did install ISA 2004 in the standalone version.
| However, I have a full sweet of SBS 2003 premium edition that I was going
to
| install on an application server, however, it sounds as though it would
be
| better to have this on my main server. I am wondering if I can just
upgrade
| to SBS 2003 premium with the full version of discs. There are (5) discs
for
| SBS 2003 premium, is there anything special I need to do if I upgrade?
Also
| can I do an upgrade on the same machine or do I need to migrate
everything to
| a different machine. Finally will I need to migrate all my setting if I
do
| an upgrade on the same machine or will they go over automatically?
|
| Thanks so much for you help!
