Re: Sharing contact

Hello Katie,

Thank you for posting in the SBS newsgroup.

Also, many thanks for Mark's great input.

Before we go any further, I am still a little confused about the meaning of
"address book" or "Contacts" and the exact symptom you experienced.

1. If you mean the Domino Server Address Book, usually it will show in
the Outlook Address Book after we install the Outlook Connector for IBM
Lotus Domino. To access it, please click the Address Book from Outlook
Tools menu to open the Outlook Address Book, and then click to select the
"<Domino Servername's> Address Book" from the "Show Names from the:"
drop-down list.

2. If you mean the Lotus Notes Personal Address Book, we have to use the
Lotus Notes Personal Address Book migration tool PABImport.exe included in
the Outlook Connector for IBM Lotus Domino to accomplish this goal.

To import the Lotus Notes Personal Address Book entries into the Outlook
Contacts folder, follow the steps below:

(1) Click Start menu -> Run, type "cmd" (without the quotation marks) in
the Open box, and press Enter.
(2) Change to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Outlook Connector for Dominos
folder"
(3) Type the following command:

"PABImport <path to .nsf>" (without the quotation marks)

Where <path to .nsf> is the location of your Lotus Notes Personal Address
Book. The default location is C:\lotus\notes\data\names.nsf.

(4) If necessary, do one or more of the following:

- Select the user profile where your Microsoft Outlook Connector Contacts
folder is located.
- Type your ID file password in the Outlook Password dialog box, and then
click OK.
- Type your ID file password in the Lotus Notes Enter Password dialog box,
and then click OK.

(5) If you get a message warning you that a program is trying to access
your Outlook email addresses, select Allow access for, accept the default
value of 1 minute, and then click Yes.
(6) If your Contacts folder contains a contact or group that also exists in
your Lotus Notes Personal Address Book, you will be asked whether you want
to create a duplicate entry. Click Yes to create a duplicate entry, or
click No to keep the entry in your Contacts folder.
(7) When you get a message indicating that your Lotus Notes names and
addresses have been imported, click OK. Start Microsoft Outlook Connector
and verify that your Contacts folder contains the imported names and
addresses.

On the other hand, we are unable to modify the Domino Server Address Book
entries from Outlook client either. They can be added or removed only in
the Domino Server.
