RE: Addusr crashing due to DEP after SP1 upgrade on SBS 2003

Hello Fvanvreckem,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

I understand that after you installed SP1 on the SBS 2K3 Server, some
wizards go off after first screen. If I have misunderstood your concern,
please let me know.

Based on my experience, this issue will be caused if you install Windows
Server 2003 SP1. Please see:

a. We do not suggest customer install Windows Server 2003 SP1 on the SBS
2K3 server, as there are some known integrated issues, please see:

Known issues that may occur if you install Windows Server 2003 SP1 on
Windows Small Business Server 2003

If you have already installed it, please

Either Remove it from Add or Remove Programs plus reboot the server.

Or Continue installing rest of the service packs.

If the issue persists after you perform all the steps above, please help to
gather the following information:

1. What is the exact SP1 you have installed?

a. Small Business Server 2003 SP1. Or

b. Any other SP1? What are they?

2. Did you meet any error messages on the way installing SP1? If yes, what
is the exact error message? Please write down and type the error message
one by one to the Newsgroup.

3. On the server, run "eventvwr" (without quotation marks), check whether
there is any error, if yes, double click it, click the Copy button and
paste the full content to the Newsgroup.

Hope this information helps. If anything is unclear, please let me know. I
am looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee
