RE: SP1 7 DHCP Challenges?

Now I understand that the IP configuration result on 11th Sep was from
Workstation. From the IP configuration result, I notice the following
information:

Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . : 169.254.73.205

>From this information, it seems that your DHCP server does not function
well.

After the network adapter has been assigned an IP address, the computer can
use TCP/IP to communicate with any other computer that is connected to the
same LAN and that is also configured for APIPA or has the IP address
manually set to the 169.254.x.y (where x.y is the client?s unique
identifier) address range with a subnet mask of255.255.0.0. Note that the
computer cannot communicate with computers on othersubnets, or with
computers that do not use automatic private IP addressing.Automatic private
IP addressing is enabled by default. This is the reason workstations can
ping each other, but cannot ping to Server.

If the issue persists after you perform the steps in the article, please
help to gather more detailed information for troubleshooting:

1. Can you ping to the Workstations from server? Try ping servername and IP
address, what are the results?

2. Do you enable the DHCP service on the router or SBS 2K3 server?

3. Just a double check, you Network Topology is :

{Internet} {Router} {SBS 2K3 + Internal Network on the same subnet}
