Question / problem 1
I have an SBS 2003 network. All service packs up to date.
I have a few XP pro systems logging on to the network and all is fine there
I also have 3 W98 systems. These systems do NOT log onto the network but do
have access to the server (via synched log on names and passwords)
I then manually map a drive to a share on the server.
The problem is this:
Clents get errors about running out of disk space on the server ( on the
server share are a couple DB programs that are accessed. (Quickbooks and an
Access database)
If I go into My conmputer and find the mapped share and look at the
properties of it, it tells me there 1G of space total.
This share (and the drive) have over 53G available on them........
If I do the same thing on the XP systems, the space is seen correctly
I've installed WINS and the DS client and all that stuff.......
Why are the W98 systems not seeing the correct size (this is causing an
issue)
Any thoughts?
Question / problem 2
On this same network.
Exchange is up and going but is not used for external email.
Email is a pop3 account that is setup for each user within Outlook (2003)
The problem is that the pop3 will not automatically send and receive email.
If I do a 'send/receive' it is fine..
I've checked the setting I know about about it connecting automatically and
all seems right...
I thought maybe I had to set the pop3 as the default account in Outlook..
but as soon as I do that and restart Outlook, it reverts to Exchange being
the default account....
any thoughts on this one?
