Hello Jansen,
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
>From your description, I understand that you want to configure a shared
folder permissions so uses cannot modify files twice. If I have
misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
I have performed many testing on my machine and discussed with colleagues,
unfortunately, there is no such native way to do so. This means you need to
change users' permissions twice for this shared folder. The first time when
users modifying files in the shared folder, you need to grant "Modify",
"Write" and "Execute" etc permissions to allow them to create and save
files.
After they save the files, you need to change users' permissions on this
shared folder immediately. But you cannot predict when they save the files,
either you could know when they will try to modify these files again.
Also, you mentioned "they can't change files names", I am not sure how you
configured so users cannot rename the files.
Thanks for your time and understanding! If you have questions or concerns,
please feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
