RE: ISA 2004 Client Installer Missing

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Since it was a Service Pack/Installation issue I broke down and called for
support. Sadly I stumped my support agent too.

Here's what it came down to:

For most of the PCs in the office we were able to perform the following
steps to uninstall ISA 2000 Client and then run the 2004 Client install:

1. End the ISA services on each client
2. Disconnect the client from the network
3. Uninstall the ISA Client from the uninstaller in the program files
folder- not through add/remove programs
4. shut down, reconnect to the network and boot
5. Run the msi from the mspclnt folder

Sadly, for my PC which I spent so much time troubleshooting the issue on my
own initially, a clean install of Windows is required. After trying to
manually uninstall ISA with MS Support we determined that something (just
what hasn't been determined) is corrupt and at this point it would be more
time effective to just FFR. Chances are all time we'd spend trying to avoid
such an end would still result in the same prescribed resolution.

Good luck to everyone else. If you come across a stubborn ISA Client
uninstall I hope this helps (or at least prevents the loss of any more
formatted clients!!!).
