RE: Client setup wizard not working

HI Tante,

Welcome to SBS newsgroup.

Issue description:
==========

You have client computer that have different languages with SBS server.

Analyzing and suggestions:
===========

Generally speaking, we can stop the SBS server to apply the client
application to client computer, please refer to my suggestion below:

1. You could rerun "Assign application to client computer wizard" on SBS
server, in the wizard you will find there is a list of computer, please
remove all the XP clients from the list.
2. Log off the client computer and logon again.
3. You will not receive any notification for client deployments.

Please note that if all the client computer are XP based, you might not
remove all the client computer from the list or the wizard will not run.

We have a workaround for this issue, you can create a computer in the
client computer. (only a false computer, then you can only assign
application to that computer, of course SBS will not apply any application
to that computer as there are no such computer) Then you can finish the
wizard.

For anther concerns about how to deploy different version of client
application to client computer, we do not recommend to do that we only
recommend buy the local version of the SBS to deploy the same languages
packs to client computer.

I appreciate your understanding on this issue, if you have any further
concerns, please feel free to let me know. I will be here waiting for your
updates.

Best regards,

Charles Yang (MSFT)

Hi,
|
| I was wondering if you could help me?
|
| At work we have a couple op desktops and laptops connected through
wired and wireless lan. Everything works.
|
| I'm just having a bit of trouble with new computers. I put the
computers into the network during the installation of windows xp
professional.
|
| Only our windows xp professional is dutch and our server is english. I
think that might cause the problem, which is: after the start up of the
client computers I get a pop up: client setup wizard. Which tells me to
either setup the client or postpone. I would like to install (but it is
not necessary, because all the programs work very well), so I can get
this pop up of my screen, but when I click start now, I get an error
because the server and the client have different languages.
|
| Since everything is working, I would like to know how I can switch of
this client setup, or a hint on how to install the client setup despite
the different languages.
|
| Anybody got an idea?
|
| Thanks Linda
