Hello Brian,
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
According to your description, I understand that on one client workstation,
the display on the top of Start Menu will change after a period of time,
and this client's outlook cannot receive emails automatically. If I have
misunderstood your concern, please feel free to let me know.
Due to lack of detail information, I need your help to gather the following
information for troubleshooting:
1. When did this issue happen? Did you install any updates or changes on
the server or client side? Also, did you make any changes in the ADUC on
the server?
2. Please help to gather the problematic client's account information. To
do so,
a. On the server, go to Server Management\Advanced Management\Active
Directory User and Computers\Yourdomain.local\MyBusiness\Users\SBSUsers.
b. On the right pane, double click the user account.
c. On the General tab, copy and paste the all the information in all
blanks.
d. On the Account tab, also copy and paste the all the information in all
blanks.
3. Did you install any third party software on the server or client
workstation, like anti-virus? Please perform clean boot on the problematic
client workstation for testing. To do so,
a. Click Start->Run, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotation marks) and
click OK.
b. In the System Configuration Utility (MSConfig) window, click the
"Startup" tab.
c. Click to clear all the check marks from the list box under "Startup".
d. Click the Services tab, check the "Hide all Microsoft Services" box and
then click the "Disable All" button to disable the non-Microsoft services.
e. Click OK to close the MSConfig window. Click Yes when you are asked to
restart your computer in order to enable the changes.
f. After restarting, please check whether this issue still exists.
4. From your description, it seems that there is only one client
workstation in the SBS 2K3 domain, but for your best convenience, I
strongly suggest you that create another user account to log on this
workstation to test whether this is a user account issue. Also, please set
up another workstation and log on as the problematic user account to test
whether this is workstation issue.
5. I understand that this issue appears casually, but I still strongly
suggest you that capture two screen shots for this issue if possible, as we
seldom see this issue before.
I am greatly appreciated your time and co-operation, and am looking forward
to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
