[Note]: You can try these steps for one roaming profile user to see whether
it works or not. Also, please read through these steps and KB article first
before performing.

1. On the SBS 2K3 server, go to Server Management\Standard
Management\Shares (Local).

2. On the right pane, click Add a Shared Folder to run the Share a Folder
Wizard.

3. Proceed to the Page of Permissions, select Use custom share and folder
permissions. Click Customize. Then please read through the following
document to assign NTFS permissions for the folders:

Security Recommendations for Roaming User Profiles Shared Folders

If it works correctly now, please assign the same permissions to your
original Roaming$ folder.

[Note]:

a. After you move the Roaming$ from the original server, this shared folder
will not inherit the permissions from the original server, it will inherit
from its parents' folder on the current server.

b. You cannot edit the subfolders (users' roaming profile folders)
permissions if you are not these subfolders' owner. Once domain users log
on domain, their roaming profile folders under Roaming$ will be
automatically created with permissions created.
